Dr. Hope Starkman grew up in Queens, NY. She attended public school thru high school. She is the daughter of a postal worker and housewife. In 1981, Dr. Starkman graduated from a Pre-Medical program with honors from Hillcrest High School. She was Number 9 out of 739 students.
In 1985, she graduated Barnard College of Columbia University where she majored in Biology and minored in English. She attended Albany Medical College and graduated in 1989. Her Internal Medicine Internship and residency were done at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. During her training, she also worked in multiple inner city emergency rooms and walk in clinics. In 1994 she completed her Rheumatology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Starkman moved to Palm Beach County, Florida in 1994 to begin the practice of Rheumatology. Her goal is to provide “Boutique Style medicine” and compassionate care to all of her patients without the additional cost to her patients. She believes all patients should be entitled to the same high standard of care without having to pay extra for it.
Additional interests and hobbies of the Dr. include teaching indoor cycling/Spinning®, Bikram Yoga, collecting vintage clothing and Barbie®, exercise, fitness, writing and being a mother to her triplets- Randi, Michael and Brianna born in 1999. She became certified by AFAA as a Personal Trainer in May 2010 and also as a Circuit Civil Mediator in October of 2010
Dr. Starkman participates in many health insurance plans including Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Avmed, Cigna, United Healthcare, Aetna, Careplus. She accepts Medicare assignment together with secondary insurance Copayments/Coinsurances.
